Need Advice/ Used stock axles $400 or ARB $2000 in a 92 YJ?

Axles worn off 1/8" on my 92 YJ / 2" pro comp lift/31x10.50.
Mechanic offers to replace with used take offs for $400 or can install
chrome moly 30 spline w/ ARB for $2000. Easy 4 wheelin only.....is it worth it to upgrade?

My opinion, used take offs are ok if you do not expect a long life. You are taking a chance in a way with that kind of deal. But I wouldnt spend $2000 for that upgrade unless that is what I wanted and had the money.

I just bought a set of 4.10 stock axles for $200, only needed to replace the brakes for another $100 plus new oil. So $400 does not sound too bad to have someone do the replacing.

I agree 400 all in isn't to bad... as long as your not going from 4.10 to 3.73

Well, if $2000 is anything to you like what it is to me, and if all you're doing is light wheeling, no, it's probably not worth it. There's middle ground between the two options, though, too, but honestly, I've done okay with what they shipped from the factory with.

Thanks for the info. Decided to go with the take of parts and use the extra $ for sway bar diconnects, new windshield and an alignement. Thx
