nerf bar recommendation

I would like to put some nerf bars on my 93 YJ. There are several brands that appear to have several different ways to install (bolt to frame, attach to body mounts, etc).

Can y'all provide some feedback on what you have (like/dislike)?

Thanks.

I actually had some cheapie nerf bars for a while. They were ok, but I replaced them with rock sliders and I'm much happier. Added body protection + the step was in a higher/nicer place and they are really solid.

I bought the smittybilt side bars. I am very happy with them. Easy to install. I used a couple jack stands to help me get them in place. Then I took two big C clamps and held them in place to mark my holes for drilling. I did have to shim the drivers side a little to get the clearance I wanted. The pic is before I shimmed it.

I like the side bars because they offer more protection then a nerf bar and I didn't drill my tub. The downside is you lose clearance over a rock slider.

i have steel horse nerf bars. they mount to the body bolts. they have been great and are strong. when we go in the mountains and hit the trails, the kids all stand on the nerf bars while we ride along the trails and hang on to the body and top. they are in between the ages of 9 and 18 so its not little kids only. the wife loves them too because she can step on them and not slide off
