New Duplicolor BED ARMOR right now

Hey everyone! Im applying the new Duplicolor bed armor bed liner. Im actually doing it as we speak. Im in the waiting period between coats. So far my impressions of this product is great. It seems to spread on nice and thick even on the first coat. They want you to apply a thin coat as a first "tack coat". However thats a tad bit hard considering that this stuff is thick! It is a rubberized style coat with uv protectant and kevlar. After I put in the next to coats and allow it to dry 24-48 hours, ill drop back on and give you my impressions of the finished product.
I have used both Herculiner and all of the spray in bed liners b4 so I have a good base for comparision.

Good stuff I just used some on my rear bumper last week and it is awesome stuff. I have hurculiner in the tub and wish I had this in there instead. But hurculiner is still good stuff but I like the easy use of this better.

well i just finished the final coat and so far so good! This stuff seems to be realllllllly thick. Ill post up pics of my prep, application and final dried product some time tomorrow. I put on one thin coat and 2 really thick coats and still have a good amount left over. I did the entire inner tub. Lets see how this holds up and maybe ill do the parts that I just ordered in this. Rock Sliders, full corner guards with tube fenders, and front tube fenders. Cant wait

I want to do this but my jeep is my daily driver. Do you think this is something I can do in a weekend. Taking out all the hardware (seats and such) cleaning it and paint then repeat.

I'm trying to decide if you posted this question before you went to bed or after you woke up this morning?

Depends how early you wake up and how fast you move. Prep your seat bolts with PBB a couple days before and make sure you have a complete list of everything you need. It can be done with proper planning. Go over it several times trying to imagine everything possible that could and will go wrong and prepare for it to minimize trips to the parts store.

When I herculined my tj it took me most of Saturday. I took out all seats, hardware/bracketry, and the center console; prep the rub; and rolled on the liner. I had time to install everything on back on ok Saturday, but I chose to wait until Sunday to give it time to cure. Getting it done in a weekend won't be a problem.

You could def do this in a weekend. The biggest part of doing the liner is prep work! All I have to say is prep prep and prep! It dries really quick depending on the temp. It was 30 deg outside but I set the heater in the garage to 50 and the first thin coat dried in about an hour enough to touch it. The instructions state to wait 24 hrs for light duty and 48 hrs for heavy usage. It's been 3 days and all as I can say is.... TOUGH! This stuff is very tough and strong . I'll toss up pics real soon.

Yeah you might wanna wait a bit. When I forget to turn on the heater after the 3rd coat it took forever to dry.

I've been thinking about this stuff for a while...how much did you end up using? Did you buy the kit or use a separate roller setup? Did you find it cheap anywhere or is 70-100 a quart what I'm gonna pay? And post some pictures if you can thanks buddy

I bought this as a kit: brush, roller, scuffle pad, tray and a gallon of liner. I put on 3 coats and did 2 of them really thick, and used about half of the gallon. Normally the kits are about $90-$100 however autozone, advanced auto and online duplicolor have a $30 off coupon.

Lots of jeep work to do today, so I will try and toss up pics by tonight.

I just took all the carpet out of my jeep to do this same thing. If you say half a gal will do the whole thing, that means I should have some left over for the fenders.... I love it when a plan comes together...

Anyone have any idea how this compares to Monstaliner? From your description, Fighing Fox it sounds about the same (UV protectant, kevlar, thick application, etc.), but cheaper.

I found the coupon on duplicolors site, I went into advanced auto and the had it on sale for the same price so I grabbed it up from them.

I'm sure with the full gallon kit you could line many other parts aside from the tub.

How is the road noise? Did it get quieter with the liner on there?

I did mine last week. Ordered it on-line at Advance Auto and picked it up at the store. It was on sale for $79.99 and I used the coupon code "BIG30" and got $30 dollars off. Can't beat $49.99!

I had to stop due to a family emergency out of state. I was planning on doing a write-up soon. Here's a couple pics to get an idea of what it looks like.

Had to do a couple repairs. The metal was cracked around a couple of the seat mounts.

I'm thinking about doing this, but I can't pull the trigger for some reason. Would you do it again? If you got another jeep of course.

I can't make that call right now because I haven't put everything back together yet and haven't driven/used it since I lined it. I can't imagine any reason I wouldn't want to do it again to another Jeep if I bought one. I think it is a great finish for the interior of a Jeep. I'm very happy with the way it came out! MUCH better than that "RED" Renegade carpet that was in there!!!

I plan to use the molded rubber front floor mats I bought from Quadratec. I don't plan on using the back of it like a pickup truck bed where I'll be throwing rocks and $hit in there.

I'll definitely post my likes/dislikes once I get some time in it.
