New gauges temperature sending unit

I did a flat dash conversion on my 1992 YJ with a 4.0L and and got some new Speedhut CJ7 style guages. Is there another location I can mount the temperature sending unit that came with the gauges it won’t fit in the stock location on the top head at the rear of the motor it hits the valve cover.

The gauge are CJ7 style gauges so they probably figure people will use them in CJ7 or V8 swaps

I got 3 options I guess

Option 1 try and use the drain plug on the side of the motor.

Option 2 use a inline temp sender adaptor from Autometer it goes in between the heater hose.

Option 3 use a 3way tee fitting on the termastat house like the picture below. Only thing is with this option is water will be stagnant not flowing true the tee

If the CJ sending unit has a single wire, simply reinstall the stock sending unit and put a terminal that will fit on the YJ sending unit on the wire that came with the CJ gauge setup.
Be sure to clean all the black crud off the sending unit and don't use Teflon tape when assembling it.

The inline setup won't work. You need the sending unit to have a good ground.

Good Luck, L.M.
