New Guy with a Throttle Positioner Solenoid Problem

Hello all, I am new to the Forum as well as a new (old) jeep owner.

I recently purchased a 1988 Wrangler Loredo that had been sitting for about 4 years. The previous owner told me that when he parked it he had put about 10,000 miles on a crate motor. The motor had not been started in the 4 years that it sat.

While i don't doubt that he put the motor in because it runs strong and sounds good, It was sitting for long enough that i am starting to find small issues popping up that need attention.

I have been driving the jeep since i got it to start in Early March. in just the past month though i have had begun to have issues starting it. When it wont start i am able to mess with the Throttle Positioner Solenoid (only name i could find for it on google) that is attached to the carburetor right in front of the throttle linkage.

because it will start after messing with that component that is what i believe the issue to be. Unfortunately everywhere i look to try and find a replacement part tells me that it has been discontinued.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where i can find a part to replace it or is there a way i can eliminate it from the equation without affecting the way the old girl runs?

I would appreciate any shared knowledge as i am new to working on jeeps.. I am a transplanted amateur hobby mechanic used to working on another type of vehicle brand that will remain un-named so i dont get stoned off of the forum.
