Corbeau RS reclining suspension seats. They say they are a direct bolt in, but there not. I will have turn the hole in the slider into a slot. I will probably buy some washers to make sure everything is tight and right. If I didn't have a family function at 2:30, I would be driving to Ace.

Well it's almost 9:00 and Al hasn't posted any pics.
Hopefully he'll get them installed right after church and we'll see them tomorrow.

How do we tell the moderators we want an envy emoji?

Thanks Al, I used to really like my Bestop seats. Now, not so much.

Good Luck, L.M.

Well, the family turned out to last much longer than I thought. Ace was closed and I had to go to Lowe's. I was able to get the holes enlarged and in my my haste what did I do???? I cross threaded one hole and screwed up the threads. I was able to get the driver's seat installed. Man these seat bottoms are thick. I sat a bit higher than before. The seats seem to be quite comfortable and they recline. If you don't have a Pop Pop belly, you might not understand how important that is. After installing the driver's seat, I realized that my console will be too wide. So, I will be removing that prior to installing the passenger seat. Tuffy makes a nice 6.5" wide console but it's $250. I will be exploring a 40mm ammo can, as the width is similar.

All the bolts and nuts are 9/16. The passenger seat has four. The driver's seat has two plus two that are part of the frame. These two fixed bolts require you to remove the nuts from under the Jeep. Does anyone know why they did this?

" Does anyone know why they did this?" Because they can, that's why. And if you don't have an engineering degree, you'll never understand.

Did your seats, which look great by the way, mount onto the stock seat bracket? If they did, I can show you how I cut mine down. I lowered the back 1" and the front 1 1/2" to get it down and tipped forward.

283yj,
They almost bolted straight in, they were about a half a hole off. So, I turned the hole into a slot. I'm gonna drive it the way it is and then I may ask how you did it. It is a little tight getting into the driver's seat because the steering wheel gets in the way. Once you get I the seat, it feels real good

OK, let me know. In the meantime I'll snap some pics of what I did should you need them. I just got tired of my head rubbing, so lowered both seats. Plus mine aren't recliners, so I needed to tip them forward just a bit. PO just tried to shim the back mounting bolts up, which just didn't cut it.

Looks awesome!! When I put my suspension seats in (PRP recliners), it was a night and day difference, it's like sitting in a hammock, and my back loves it.

We did about 90 miles tonight. The seats were quite comfortable. They seemed to dampen the bumps and jolts. They are kind of like a shock absorber. They just smoothed out the bumps. The side bolster are different, but once you're in, YOU ARE IN. There is no sliding in these seats. Where you are is where you will stay. My wife and her back think the ride was better than before.

In the future, would you guys please keep this kind of information to yourselves? It's taken me a year to convince my wife that Jeeps are supposed to knock fillings loose and render extremities numb, and I don't need her thinking otherwise.
Thank you for you support.

Update
Yesterday, my wife and I drove 500 miles to N GA mtns. These seats made all the difference in the world. They made the trip more than bearable. The more we ride in them, the happier we are.

My four little squirrels were NOT happy with the trip.

I tried everything to budget for these seats and was almost there.
Then I realized the number I was working with was 'Each' not a pair.
Come to the realization the only way I can swing it is to sell the motor and transmission.

Might still do it if I can park the jeep so the seats can be seen from the street.

Those are some nice looking seats. How much space do you have between the seats?

I think it is about 8ish inches. I will measure later and post. Tuffy makes a 6.5" console but it is $250+. I'm thinking of making one based on a 40mm ammo can. Qtech carries a black one for $40, which is about what I have found in military surplus stores.

I have a 40mm can between a pair of Chevy Cavalier seats. Kind of tight opening and closing the lid but it works great for my tools and other junk.

I was wrong. The width between the seats is 6&7/8". Width of 40mm ammo can is 5.5-6", depending on which website you look at. So it is still an option.

I think 5.5 would be inside and 6 would be outside at widest point
