New to the forum and new to jeeps!

Just wanted to say hello and share a few pics of my new rig. Don't know much about it but it's lifted on 33's. She's solid but needs some TLC.

She's a 91 with just shy of 109k.

Thanks!

She's got the 4.0 but is still a dog on the highway. I'm guessing new gears are in my future. Right now 5th gear is like an OD gear only used on flat road or down hill.

Had a lower rear shock mount break on me. So I'll be doing some wrenching Saturday. The homemade flares need to go as well.

Great. Now you've got me whistling the Hawaii five 0 song! lol.

Good looking rig! Doesn't look like it needs too much TLC from the pictures. Looks to be in pretty good shape for 23 years old.

They love that show here. New and old. The one channel plays the old Hawaii5O everyday at noon.

Yeah, it came with the jeep. I have a bikini top for it as well but we're still living out of a hotel and have no where to store it.

Well my first week and a half of ownership has been fun and busy. A day after I bought her a rear lower shock mount broke. So there went my Saturday. 7 hours later and now I have two new mounts on the rear axle. While back there I noticed that the rear track bar mount on the axle was also broken so I just simply removed it. Also went ahead and replace both of the rear U joints. The one closest to the slip yoke on the axle was completely seized on the drive shaft. Took about 30 minutes to remove it even with a hydraulic press. Still have something clanking underneath, hopefully it just the old exhaust.

Ah yes, the Jeep will take up your free time whether it be wrenching or having fun off road. As for the clunking, I've been chasing that myself. I found the rear exhaust hanger worn. $10 from dealer. It is a special rubber wedge. I also replaced the 2 hangers (O'Reilly's) on the muffler. I will be replacing the left motor mount as we found it broken yesterday. I will let you know if that solved the clunk. Just some things you may want to check. Have fun.

Please keep me posted. Pretty sure my exhaust/intake gasket is shot as I have an exhaust leak on the motor. Also the whole exhaust is rusted pretty bad. The actual tail pipe stops just above the rear axle, so that's not good either. This week I'm going to pull the rear diff cover and check that out. Oh and the rear brakes are pretty shot as well. I'm going to look into the ford 8.8 swap I just don't know if I will find one at a good price here on Oahu. Oh I also replaced one of the torx bolts connecting the cage to the windshield. It was sticking half way out and the head was stripped. Lucky the threads weren't damaged. Replaced it with hex bolt.
