New with some questions.

OK, so I have been trying to solve a few of my jeeps issues without having to make a new post. But Im feeling a little overwhelmed at this point so any help would be awesome. I have a 87 with the 4.2 5 speed. OK questions.

1. Due to the rough idle I performed a nutter bypass, i have been all screwed up trying to figure out why I couldnt figure out how to adjust the pins, well after finding some more in depth picture i figured out that there are no pins...

i have the little disc and the small round pin in the center, that i pointed to in red, but the two long pins that i point to in blue are not there. could they be broke off in the carb? I made a video of it HERE 87 wrangler idle problem. - YouTube. although you cant see the pins in the video.

what should i do?

2. I know that the vacuum lines are all jacked up. with the bypass what vacuum lines do i still need? advance, brake booster, 4x4, anything else?

3. My wipers dont work so my first course of action is to see if the motors are getting power, do i have to take the whole dashboard off to get to them? or will lowering the windshield get me in?

4. Valve cover has some oil leaking out of it, while this seems like a easy fix and will probably be done in the next few days, would the leak cause the engine to run poorly?

I apologize about what im sure are repeat questions, but I looked and couldnt find/understand what I was looking for. I bought this jeep as a welcome home from deployment gift for myself cause I have wanted one since I was a youngster. But im already catching enough crap from my wife about buying "a broken jeep", without having to put a ton of money into it. Any help would be awesome. Thanks a lot.

Have you looked and researched this forum and Jeep Forum for the nutter bypass? I mean the threads I have seen go into extensive detail about doing all of this. Look into it and keep it up. You will regret selling it, if you do. And if your wife gives you shit about it, ignore it. Once you are up and running, she will be happy. A jeep without a car note, that is awesome!!

Take care,

Check "YJ V6 Conversion Swap" if you want to see my "frame up" restoration that anyone can do.

Check "WWII Willy's restoration and usage..." if you want to see THE ORIGINAL JEEP IN ACTION.
