New YJ owner

Hello,

I am thinking of putting a 305 or a 302 in my yj and was wondering if there was any major differences between the two when it comes to installation? I am also going to replace the stock axles, what is a good but not ridiculously expensive set of axles to get?

thanks

302's were a popular option. So are 350's. Nowadays the Ls series is a hot ticket.

Me personally I'm a ford guy so I'd lean towards a 302. As for axles d44 (wagoneer with Chevy flattop knuckles and ford outters ) and a 8.8 would be a good combo upto a 37" tire. If going over 37's just go d60/14b

Small Block Chevy is the most popular engine ever. 305/350 (might as well go 350 as everything is basically same as 305).
This makes parts available in abundance and cheap.
Of course that's if you are planning to go old school.

Otherwise - LS as stated above is a bada** option!
