Some things will fit...not much yj's are more interchangeable with cj7's. Is there anything in particular you want to know about?

If I were to buy the axles from a buddy of mine, they are dana 30 and 35, I'm wondering if these will fit? Also, they are from his 05 tj?

Short answer no. Long answer yes but... You either have to cut your leaf spring set up off your yj and build stuff a 4 link setup or cut off all the 4 link stuff off the axles and weld perches on.

With enough modification a lot of axels will fit. But they will not have perches for your leaf springs, they will also make the drivetrain a different length, and they won't add a ton of strength. I wouldn't waste time making those axels work for only marginally netters performance.
Axel work can be tedious and you'll have to do a lot of research to find what works. But my advice is if it ain't broke don't fix it. Or at least don't get to it until the current axels obviously need to be upgraded because of your off roading.

No worries dude Jeeps are a lot of fun and the cool thing about this place is somebody else has done everything and can help out. (I'm not one of those guys I've just already asked a similar question)

About the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that swaps from TJ to YJ are the tailgate hinges. Everything else takes some "persuading" to fit.

Well I guess I'll stick to whats working right now, thanks for the advice. I will just have to swap one from the same year or years that are compatible. I don't wanna do a complete swap!
