You know, if you buy her a TJ your going to want to build it up too, YJ's are a little easier and cheaper to build I've read.

Tell her you'll build her an XJ

i thought about that. But she doesn't like the cherokee. It has to be a wrangler she said.

Im looking that way. I found a yj near me. But it has a V8 conversion and no title. So maybe I'll look at that for me. And find her another. I can never have too many yj's. Lol

I notice your in Michigan arctic. Where abouts because when I buy vehicles I search the Chicago area and have lots of luck usually, found my latest yj in Rockford il. I have seen a few here in mi though, I would be leery of anything with no title for several reasons.

I'm near Ann Arbor, I do know the risks of not having a title, but i have checked with the township, and there is a process we can go through. My main interest in it, is really for parts. Maybe a trail jeep. Where i dont need a plate unless on state land. But it's real cheap. Like $600. And it does run. I just don't have any pics yet.

Ahh Ann Arbor, I am on the west side near Kalamazoo. Yea I know it's possible to get a title, not sure of the process but know a few who have done it. I think I would be more scared that the guy only wants 600 bux

If you ever get to the west side of the state here in paw paw there is a bar called roadhouse and they have jeep night every Thursday. Wasn't uncommon last season to see well over 100 jeeps on the trails behind the bar, besides the guys IN the bar of course lol

Good to know, thanx. But as for the price. The jeep was a friend of his, who asked to store it for a winter. That was 5 years ago. And no way of contacting the guy. So its been on his property for five years. Thats why it's so cheap.

Tell her to join the Girls With Wranglers thread in the Off Topic section of this forum. We'll make sure she'll know how to do her own mods instead of taking your cast-offs, lol

well the vin on the jeep is on the dash so if your jeeps legit you can replace the tub with one thats titled.. buy a jeep with a bad frame and motor or just the tub and title.. i believe thats legal.. i seen guys just switch the vin with the titled jeep but i dont think thats legal in most states..

Make sure and check with your motor vehicle department and local police about transferring ownership. If the registered owner decides to come looking for it, he might be able to report it stolen if the property owner had no right to sell it. Just my two cents...

Agreed but seems after 5 years it would be considered abandoned

Again, I would check with law enforcement first. If the current owner tries to report it stolen, and is holding the title in his hand, the buyer would have to prove it was abandoned for five years and likely alongside defense council

I have checked with both of the police agencies that have jurisdiction, and they both tell me I won't have a problem. But if worse came to worse, i would just use it for parts. And find her another. That way there would be plenty of spares for us both.
