Off-road light brackets

There are brackets that attach to either the upper or lower windshield hinge. What are the pros and cons of each?

I have never used them but i assume you can fold the windshield down with them mounted to the top of the hinge. They also look better mounted to the top and it just makes more sense to mount them there.
