pedal covers, extension?

anyone else have a problem with the pedals being a little to close together?
i'd like to make or buy an extension for the clutch petal to make it move or a little wider to the left. do they make such an attachment?

Never heard of someone making such a thing probably could make one pretty easy just to make it stick out farther to the left. I kind of like how close together they are for some reason, it's never bothered me though but I do see how it could.

I've though about it, I have size 15 feet, and if I wear boots I'll sometimes catch a bit of the brake pedal. I may check out the junkyards and cut off a brake pedal and fab up an new pedal that juts to the left a bit more.

I don't have issues with hitting the clutch, but I do occasionaly hit the gas pedal when I brake.

I haven't usually had that problem with the Jeep. I drove a 4-runner for 24 years, and I simply couldn't drive it with my boots on. The rest of the time, being a child of the 60's, I always drove it barefoot anyway, so no problem. (I also couldn't even get into it with my winter coat on.)

I'm pretty sure that's the real story behind Toyota's mythical "unexplained acceleration" problem. They just came up with that floor mat story to make the press go away. Maybe they figured that would be less damaging than admitting that their vehicles are just too darned small.
