Angry Pissed at the GF

Ok so tonight i went in the woods with alot of my jeep friends just to ride trails in my yj that Ive had since i was 16. its like a part of me. and my gf decided she wanted to go out with us tonight to, well as you all know. yjs dont ride like a cadi. so one of my friends was down there in his 05 rubi. dont get me wrong, i love rubis and think they are nasty in the woods. but she proceeded to tell me how she wish's my jeep rode like his jeep. then how good that jeep looked covered in mud, then how nice the interior was in that jeep, so i said do you really like his jeep that much more then mine??? and she said,,, well i like ur stickers??? wow i got mad when she said that. that jeep is like my kid, ive been through life in that jeep. then she said one day you will get a nice jeep like that huh? well we kept riding and the rubi got stuck(framed out) so i was its only way out(my warn m8274) after i pulled it out i felt a little better but still feel inferior.. now i feel like i need lockers. new lift and bigger tires just to feel like my jeep isnt P.O.S. so im just wondering what yall would do in that position because i was pissed

Don't sweat it man. Keep the yj, keep the girl (if she's worth it) and call it a day.

Your jeep is more reliable than the girl. Think about it. You know how to turn tour yj on you can sense when she isn't feeling well. She costs less. And you can undress her whenever you want and she doesn't complain.

I would have told her to get out and go ride in the rubi. I have a YJ and I TOTALLY understand about your relationship with it. If the girl doesnt like what you got, then find one that does. You are to have fun not be bickerd at by a girl. Next time you ride with her in her vehicle (if she has one) talk about how nice ANOTHER car is compared to hers. That will piss her off.

Well she doesn't understand jeeps for one which is to be expected not because she is female but because she is a complete non-enthusiast. I understand your relationship with your jeep I'm married with two kids (only been married like 2 errr maybe 3 years can't remember shhh don't tell her I said that) but I have been with her since high school and have had my jeep the same amount of time! Well just take it with a grain of salt and explain (if it happens again) that this is your jeep their is no other jeep like it blah blah blah lay it out how it is felt and if she is a b**** about it or doesn't understand and starts up again quickly drive to the nearest mud pit park in the middle and boot her a$$ out then just before you leave as she is semi sitting up crying in the mud from you kicking her a$$ out look at her and say your right that rubi does look better than you covered in mud then flipoff and tear outta there!

She's just trying to piss you off. Girls like to test guys to see if they can push your buttons and if they find something that will really piss you off (as you have described here) they will keep on doing it.

Im willing to bet if you and her were wheeling in a Rubicon. She probably would have said something about that nice, much less expensive, YJ your friend has and why you have to spend so much money on your Jeep when your friends do it for a third of the price.

Save yourself a lot of future headaches and offload this one post haste.

I wouldn't worry about it. What your GF said is not based in fact, but a lack of understanding of what Your Jeep means to you and what is important in a Jeep.

She probably did not realize she was being disrespectful towards something that had a lot of personal meaning to you, or that what she said bothered you. I would explain that stuff to her. You will either feel better about it after talking to her, or you will learn something important about her character. Win/win.

As for the facts about your Jeep; your profile says you own a 95 YJ. That is a classic piece of machinery, man! You should be proud of that no matter what mods you have in it. It is not a P.O.S. by any means! I think it is hilarious that you had to pull the other Jeep out after she said those things.

You were happy with your interior a minute before she made her comment. No reason not to be happy with it after. Nothing changed about it at all. Don't let some random comment change the way you see your Jeep. I went down that road myself, and it's a dead end.

Regards, Canis

Perhaps the best advice you'll get in this thread!

Chances are that she doesn't realize how much your Jeep means to you.

AND - it's not a fair comparison. Yes, a lot of girls will appreciate the nice new, pretty, comfortable do-lollys of something like your buddy's Jeep. It was a little insensitive of her to talk like that about your Jeep but she won't know how you feel about it unless you tell her.

Lockers, lift and tires... you don't need those to impress a girl but if that is your excuse for getting them then go for it! ANY excuse to upgrade Jeep parts is a good excuse!!

Has nothing to do with growing up...it has to do with his GF being a whiny b!tch. I would have told her my Jeep is staying the way it is...If you don't like it go ride in the Rubi then.

Some how you need to make her better understand that your Jeep is NOT JUST A CAR to you...and that it is a passion in your life, and has sentimental value.

I agree. If she doesn't like the jeep, just leave her at home.
