Plasti-Dipping Side Mirrors

I have these side mirrors on my Jeep and they are faded...bad. I've got the Plastidip and am just waiting for a decent day to do them.

I was just curious as to what type of prep work I need to do to make sure it's done right. Any suggestions?

Tips from painting my 15" aluminum wheels:

Spray a light coat, wait a half hour, and then spray another coat. Repeat as necessary. I sprayed 2-3 coats, waited 5 days and sprayed another 2-3 coat. It has held up extremely well.

I did not scratch up the surface in order to paint, it was a byproduct of cleaning my wheels. So I would not recommend scratching your plastic housings.

First couple of coats will look bad, but after drying and multiple light coats should come out great.

^^ I agree. I plati dipped the emblems on my car. I didn't scuff them, cleaned them well and did 4 or 5 light coats. Turned out great and it lasted a year so far, no chips yet
