Power Inverter/Heater

I've been having heater issues and haven't come up with a solution on how to fix it since the part (heater control) is no longer made. (see prev. thread https://www.wranglerforum.com/f218/he...ed-487026.html)

Has anyone tried using a power inverter and a small personal heater to use as a defroster/car heater? I've read the cig. outlet heater/defrosters are junk and using and inverter with a small space heater works better. Just wanted to know if anyone can recommend any heaters in particular.

Looks like they're avaliable again. Better jump on it.

Omix-ADA - 17954.01 - Heater Control Panel, 87-95 Jeep Wrangler (YJ)

EDIT: Nevermind. Omix just refers you to a 3rd party vendor. What a crock.

Seems like it would be worth the trouble to rewire everything to a switch. I've never messed with it because my heater still works, but after reading this, I might have to look into it.

There has to be a fix out there that allows you to use the factory heater. Once someone comes up with a solution, it needs to be posted & stickied asap.

Yeah no kidding. I've been looking for an answer for about 2 weeks now.
