question about an ox locker install

Going to be putting a pair of ox lockers in my yj and was wondering about your guys opinions for actuation. If I decide to go with the manual shifters what is the best location to mount them? If I decide to go electric, are the selanoids weather proof? Or do they mounted out of the elements? For right now air is not an option.
What do you think?

The best location to mount the manual shifting cable is up at the front of the trans hump, out of the way. The last thing you need is to be in a predicament where you think you are all locked in and someone or yourself has bumped the knob and you are back in an open differential setting.

As far as the solenoids go, they are for the most part waterproof, They can be mounted on the inner fender or firewall.

That is one of the locations I was thinking about. The other is right in front of the driver seat on the floor board , easy access but may be in the way of my big feet.
If I decide to go electric, I think a three way switch would be the way to go. All the way up would be off, center position for the rear and all the way down would be both front and rear.
