questions about a late 95 yj

I believe my 95 is one of the later 95's produced. It has the rubber stops on the hood rather than the loops for the windshield to fold onto. Are there any other differences on these late 95's that set them apart. Another question I have is, is there any location or number anywhere on the Jeep that says what month it was produced? Thanks, Jeff

the vehicle safety certification lable on the driver side door shut-face has a date of manufacture the vin and tire size GVWR and other data. Mine has a date of manufacture of 01-95 and sounds like it has the hood rubber bumps. check out or find a service manual and it has tons of info i.e. a chrysler service manual for 95 jeep cherokee wrangler........Driller

you would know if you had the hood bumps everytime you drove because they are on top of you hood. instead of having the footman loops that you put straps in, the late 95s have the rubber bumpers like the 96 on wranglers do

All 1995s Have a fully galvanized frame and body and larger u joints.

The late 1995 model had the rubber stops on the hood and reinforced tailgate hinges. These were both transitional parts that are found on TJs.

I have a late 1995 as well. My manufacture date is 11-1995.

I know that some of the 95s also have the "Dual Diaphragm" Brake Boosters. I tried to locate one and couldn't...Used or New...pretty rare. Ended up putting in an 06 booster.

In states like Ohio, no amount of protection is going to stop your vehicle from rusting.

I agree with that, but being a Ford truck man as well I have had many 70's model trucks over the past 20 years. There are parts of them that are galv also, and they NEVER rust there no matter where they are...that's what I am basing it on

I was underneath my Jeep today and.noticed of that underneath the passenger side of the front bumper there is a date stamped into the bumper. Mine says M1 OCT 5 95. I snapped a pic too. Anyone know what this date could be? Guess I really do have a late 95.

I also have a 12/95 YJ. It has the round rubber windshield bumpers on the hood like the TJ's. It has the reinforced aluminum tailgate hinges like the TJ's and it has the larger u-joints in the front. Mine also had a TJ style rear bumper instead of the bumper loops.

As far as the motor is concerned Im not sure. But I do know this, my buddy has a 95 XJ and I have a 96 XJ. The motor in my YJ matches the newer style power steering and belt setup that my 96 XJ has, not like my friends 95 XJ.

Glen91YJ, anymore "round headlight" pictures for your yj? Seems like they should be standard or at least the latest upgrade for any discerning YJ owner. anyway, my 4 banger yj rio grande is getting its share of small mods with radiator, brakes, trans oil cooler lines , bilstein shocks all around, and eventually new tires and skid plate for gas tank. do like the looks of bestop bumper for the front......Driller
