quick trail fix if your actuator goes out

my old vacume actuator went out before i had the chance to mod to posi lock, i neede to gey my front engaged and this worked, i remover the 4 bolts holding the shift fork and slid the collar over to driverside then the fork so it lined up and just put a 1/2 pvc pipe cut to about 1/2 long and used it to hold the fork in the engaged position bingo 4x4 was back even when you take it out of 4 wheel drive,,dont know how long this will last but if you havent done the mod yet it just may pay to carry a 5/8s wrench (i think thats what the bolts are) and a 1/2 long pvc pipe or something simular jst in case it lets go, this will at least get ya home..

just thought i would share what worked for me,,,-i just happen to have alot of pvc water pipe with me from plumbing jobs..

No I gotcha. I've heard about doing it before. It's just nice having a reminder of what can be done if needed.
