rear trac bar

how important is a rear trac bar? like do i need ti to maintain normal driving, and also front sway bar removal how is that when driving on the road? does it handle like a jeep still or a jeep on crack.

I have been told by many people to toss the rear in the trash, I just havn't gotten around to it/havn't decided to do it.

Front can be removed no problem with your current set up, it's exactly what I have and I have no issues with no sway bar, but you just ordered the 4" lift with Disco's so that's really a non issue for you.

Body roll is not as noticeable with leaf springs, as it is with coil springs. You will need to adjust the way you go around corners though, it will feel different, softer.

I think it would be a good idea, before you take the whole sway bar out, to install your lift without the links and drive around for a while to feel it out..........once your comfortable you can then remove it.......or if not ........get Disco's.

I had to cut a bolt off to get my sway bar out.........I'd hate to see you have that happen too just to find out you want it.

There's no need for the rear trac bar to be in your YJ. The leaf springs will locate the axle under the rig. Now on a coil sprung vehicle that's a totally different story. But yours will be fine.

You really don't need the front trac bar either for that matter.

Are we sure we dont need the front track bar? I just took mine off and drove it up the hill, it felt alittle funny. But I have not taken it on the road yet. I am instaling new bushings and having the bars powder coated.

Mine went on the scrap metal pile years ago, but so did my front one.

Will allow more flex in the front.. rear will flex more too, but some say its too unstable with out the rear sway bar hooked on, on off camber stuff etc.

Take them off, front and rear, the sway bar also. Ive even removed bump stops, but dont do that if you drive on road much. If you have a rear locker you will notice it making more noise due to axle wrap when shifting, this is not a problem.
