Recliner or not?

I知 torn between reclining seats or not? I知 replacing my seats with either the Smittybilt or Rugged Ridge or similar stock look seat but I知 having trouble deciding between reclining or fixed position!? Sway me one way or the other and preferences on brands please! Looking to spend no more than $500-$600. Thanks all🤙

I went with reclining seats even though i never recline them. Because if your not happy with the angle of the seat back you can change it if it leans to far back or to far forward for your liking. If you get fixed seats and you don't like the angle you can at least adjust it instead of paying return shipping on 2 big bulky seat boxes to buy reclining ones $$$$$

In addition to recline angle, there's also if you're in the middle of the boonies on a 4x4 excursion, camping or fishing, bad weather kicks up and if your seats recline far enough back you can always sleep in your jeep. Not as comfortable as a recliner, but in a pinch...

Wish I had reclining seats but, can't justify the expense for that one feature.

If you don't have tilt wheel or you happen to have thunder thighs, pay attention to the new seat bottom height compared to stock, or you may never turn right or left again.

I'm running SmittyBuilt non-reclining. REALLY wished I had recliners. I ended up cutting and lowering the brackets to get a comfortable ride position. Jeep came that way, so down the road I will be getting the upgrade.

Mine don't recline and it doesn't make any difference to me. If I wanted the back angle more forward or back, I might shim the seat brackets.
I have the Bestop cheap seats and they sit a bit taller but that doesn't seem to make any difference either.
I'm 5'10" and 180#.

Just went on a run last weekend. Three hours each way to the trailhead and Mrs. Lucky and I were both comfortable.

Good Luck, L.M.

I've been taking a lot of lip off you featherweights.
If I had known all these heights and weights I wouldn't have been "yes, sir'n" and "no, sir'n".

I have PRP Enduro reclining seats, they don't recline back very far due to the roll bar, so I couldn't sleep in it, but I do tilt them up a little more when offroad to see better and back a little when on the highway. I'm 6' 190# with tilt steering.

I would recommend reclining for that reason

I'm going to get recliners when I go to do mine. It's not even really an option IMO. But then I'm a fat kid, and I don't have tilt steering.

I've got enough problems in my Jeep. I don't remember the 1990 YJ I drove in college being quite as small as this '94 I own now!

As another fat kid, I recently bought Corbeau RS reclining seats. They are awesome. While the recline feature is limited due to the roll bar, it is great. Also, the suspension made a 500 mile trip very comfortable. The side bolsters can be a little tight at first but the bolsters and my butt have come to an understanding. I would not go back to regular seats.

OP get recliners.
