Well I feel like I'm going a different direction with my YJ. I currently have gloss black procomp steel wheels. I am wanting a set of polished wheels instead. Should i attempt to strip the black and polish the wheels myself? What about Corrosion? Surprisingly it is difficult to trade my wheels in my area. I'm thinking the easiest thing is to just paint them.

If you want polished wheels you either need chrome or aluminum....
You can't just strip paint off steel and polish it... It will rust overnight

Yeah I knew about the rust which is why i was wondering if it had to be coated. I'm leaning against painting them a silver color. Chrome obviously can't be achieved nor would i spend that much money on having them chromed.

Powder coat them or have them chromed. Personally I would buy new ones.
