rough country shackles

i have a 89 wrangler that is basicly a camp vehicle. anyways i was going to go the shackle route. i looked on the rough country website and it says you can gain 1 3/4 of lift but the shackles are 1 1/4. can someone explain this? and if i do go with shackle will i need to extend anything?

I have used shackles on two of my YJ's. I think that you should go with greasable ones. There pretty much the same price and be sure to get a set that comes with replacement bushings. It is not as good of a route as a suspension lift but combined with a small amount of body lift it can get your fenders and quarterpanels far enough away of you wheels to get a little articulation. There are some I think either rugged ridge or rough country are the brand that I have used they were grey powder coated and came with new bushings, greaseable bolts and nuts. I bought them off Amazon I had some gift cards to use.

I have an 89 with heavy duty shackles. It drives just fine down the road. Don't know how much lift it gave it they were on it when I got it. I am running 33X10.50 tires. Hope the info helps.
