It's easy to remove the hardtop - it's just some bolts, and some lifting. The hard top is heavy and awkward though, so you'll need some help.

For the soft top, you've got lots of options. I'd probably start with a catalog, like the one from Quadratec. It's nice to see good photos of everything right next to each other. You cna send away for a free one, or you can buy one at the magazine stand for a few bucks. Catalogs are nice!

Then, after you've weighed all your options, you'll want to buy one of our tops! (I may be biased).

I just did this, and the one thing to to keep in mind with YJs are the corners of the doors. Hard tops have a rounded corner and so do the full doors, but the factory style soft top uses a square corner on the upper door so they won't fit.
If you want to use your full doors with the new soft top, get something like a Supertop or Sunrider because these have rounded door corners and will work fine with full steel doors.
I bought my sunrider on amazon, they had by far the cheapest price.

Definitely buy a best top, I bought a pavement ends top a year ago and I've been kicking myself in the ass ever since. Go the extra mile and get the sunrider flipping the top piece back is such s nice feature
