Seat Exchanges

I have the original seats for my 94 YJ and they are looking ratty. Can I replace these with any wrangler seats? Will the brackets match up?

It depends on which brand you go with, but for the most part, installing seats on a YJ is very simple, and most seat brands will just bolt right in.

I know Bestop seats do - some TJs needs an extra bracket, but the YJs just bolt on.

That "tower" seat riser is a very adaptable way to mount seats.

I have a pair of seats I got for my YJ from JC Whitney for only $106 each delivered. Great seats so far.

I'm looking at going to the junk yard to get them. Is it really worth it or should I buy them new?

you can get seats out of a IIRC 97? sunfire or cavalier and they are direct bolt in. Measure your bolt pattern and have that with a tape measure when you hit the JY. It's amazing how many seats wil fit, but beware of the thickness of the seats you look at. Some are thicker, raise your sitting position and akes away gap between wheel and thigh.
I installed seats out of my old 86 broncoII EB edition and cut my driver riser down and love the comfort it gives. The seats even match pretty good to my spice interior..
