Should I change carbs?

While replacing the valve cover gasket on my 88 YJ 6cyl several of the vacuum lines broke off due to being brittle and old. Started thinking there has to be a better set up than the carter and all of these vacuum lines. In two weeks I am going to be taking about a 800 mile round trip down to the hill country of Texas so I came across this setup on ebay. MotorCraft 2100 JEEP Carb Upgrade 258/4.2 Non-Smog 1.08 | eBay

Seems like I would be way ahead of the game going with this setup and getting rid of all the vacuum line crap.

Ya if you do a search on here you'll see a lot of guys on here rave about that guy selling the motorcraft carbs out of colorado. He sells one made to pass emissions testing and one that won't.

I picked up a 2 barrel holley carb off of an early 60's jeep with a kaiser 230 I-6 that I'm eager to rebuild and give a try. Close enough to a 258 and same idea where the carb only has two connections, one for fuel in and one for distributor vacuum advance.

just eliminate what you don;t need on the carter and cap off nipples your not using
