SmittyBuilt XRC Flat fenders??? anyone installed them? cop magnets?

Really tempted to get these for the rig.... my question is are they as wide, or narrower then stock fenders? just wondering if these are gonna turn the jeep into a cop magnet? anyone have experience with installation? instructions look pretty involved, any "extra" tricks

You can get them with or without the built in flare which is three inches wider. The ones without flares is the same width as taking your stock flares off. The three inch wide ones make them about the same coverage as stock. Here's a pic of the standard flares.

As far as a cop magnet, that just depends on tire coverage laws in your area. Don't have tire coverage issues where I live, so if I get a second look from a LEO, then it's usually just a head turner.

Installing them, it's not too bad. Jig saw and or sawsall, mark off the area to be cut and go at it. The biggest PITA is getting to the bolts that mount into the tub.

Hi Gang, I'm trying to gauge what kind of interest there would be for bolt-on fender extensions so the Smittybilt XRC's can be driven on the street. I have a design and fabricator lined up to make a set that pop on and off easily between street and trail. I gave up on Smittybilt when I got an email saying they were scrapping the R&D of these themselves. Right now I'm just gauging interest to see if others would be willing to buy a nice set. Totally understand that price and appearance will be factors, but trust me this design won't go on my rig without it looking top notch!!! Thanks, J.D.
