So I got it!

Alrights kids, here's out new 1991 YJ. It's in great condition mechanically - everything works. Well the thermostat didn't, but I found the sender wire was hanging loose in the engine bay. And I need to adjust the parking brake ASAP. Also I wondered why the washer fluid was completely dry... and then I found out it's cracked and leaks.... so had a nice puddle in the garage.

Right now I'm swapping out seats, seatbelts, and adding a mesh bimini top. It's spent a lot of time baking in the desert sun and the interior needs some TLC.

Quick question! The clutch pedal has a tiny amount of play in it when your foot is off it. So when you hit any bump you get this loud rattle. Would a new spring help keep tension on it? The spring in there now is very rusted, but seems to do it's job just fine.

Quick question 2: There's some aftermarket stuff under the wheel. Any ideas what it might be? Below the headlight switch is a plate, and behind that is a wiring harness held onto plate with white velcro. There's also a faded yellow light dangling off that harness. A little to the right is an on/off switch with nothing connected to it. And then a bracket that looks like a CB went there?

I can't see the pics in your post, but I can in the link.

Is the clutch and brake hitting that metal plate that someone installed in front of them? That's what's probably making the noise.

Nope. It's just the clutch pedal itself rattling. I should make a little video. That'll be more informative.

Congratulations on the new ride, looks great and does look like it's been taking care of and looks like it has a nice paint job as well. Enjoy, the fun is just beginning.

Yep, Congrats!
If itís your first Jeep your life is about to change. If itís not, well, then you already know, lol.
Most old vehicles are going to come with a few little issues. But the good thing is, on these old YJís, theyíre usually pretty easy to fix.
Iím wondering if the issue youíre having with the clutch is from years of the past owner(s) riding around with their foot lying on it.

check the bushings at the top on the pedals and where the master connects. Never looked at the jeep pedals so not sure how easily they can be disassembled, but it's a common source of rattle

You have a worn out bushing on the pin what connects the pedal to plunger.
