Soft top advice

Hello everyone, I need to replace my soft top on my YJ. I presently have a Bestop super top that is nearing the end of it's service life and I'm looking for a replacement. The Bestop has lasted a long time but, it's expensive to replace close to $1000.00. I'm presently looking at a Rampage soft top complete w/ new support bows but, I have not been able to turn up any reviews on this top.
Has anyone had any experience with Rampage tops? I'd appreciate any reviews or soft top advise anyone could offer. Thanks, Ed

I have the rampage frameless soft top. I love it. It's easy to remove and put back on. It stays pretty warm in the winter. I haven't had any problems with it at all.

FWIW........I know a few Jeepers that have run the Rampage tops for TJs. They regretted not getting a Bestop....from what they told me.
I have ALWAYS ran Bestop. The factory maker of the ST SHOULD be the BEST!!

The sailcloth is about $700 or so from at least one supplier, but they also make a Replace-A-Top for about $225 which uses your existing hardware. I just ordered a new sailcloth to replace my 15 year old top.

Shop around. Google is your friend.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I have contacted Bestop in regard to replacement super top minus the framework but, the cost difference was minimal compared to a complete new top which is why I was considering other manufactures. Thanks again, Ed

I still don't understand how a supertop is close to 1k. I spent 800 shipped for my supertop and 2 piece soft doors last spring

It's 1k for the complete setup with frame hardware. If the po trashed the framework like ours did, no choice but to start over with everything. The skins and soft tops are considerably less by themselves.

I bought a Smittybilt top about a year ago with tinted back windows. So far I'm very happy with it, Morris has them for $279.99. I was very hesitant because the reviews were not the best. I found a problem with the top shortly after I installed it and Morris had it warranted for me with no questions asked after I sent them pictures of the defect. Since then I have not had any problems and the top is not showing any wearing. Because of the sunny one moment and pouring rain in moments nature of living in Florida I take it down and put it back up often. I'm pretty sure it's going to last several years. My jeep is garage kept and it's not a daily driver so the top does not see much weather.

I just installed a new Bestop replacement softop with tinted windows and am really pleased with it. I did have a small 1/2" rip on the top leading edge of the driver side rear quarter window skin. I called Quadratec and they are sending me a replacement window skin.

My old Bestop was wore out, so last year I bought a SoftTopper frame less. I love it! Easy to take on and off, and easy to run safari mode if you like. For the SoftTopper, you have to use the Bestop window uppers with the rounded back corners. The square ones don't work.

Somebody told me before buying that it was quieter than the Bestop... Don't believe that. It's not louder, but not quieter either... It's a YJ, it's a soft top, it's gonna be loud on the highway.
