soft top question

So I just bought a 89 yj with an 93 xj fi 4.0 with posi lock ax 15 swap and 3 inch lift.... for 1000 it has a hard top which is nice in the winter but not what I got a yj for . My questions might seem newbie but I am.....I see their are frames and frame less soft tops....do the framed ones work like a convertible top where it is just folded back and then put back up...I have seen storage cases that cover them when they are down.....if not then what is better frame or frameless....thanks

The frameless ones sit on the rollbars, and if memory serves the 89 still has the 'sport cage', where the back has the angled supports only.

If that's the case, you're pretty much out of luck for frameless, and you'll need to get a framed one.

As far as the framed soft tops, it's not an EXTREMELY quick process, but yes, they can be folded back and put back up. I'd dedicate about 15-20 minutes to it whenever you do so though, at least if you want to get it done nice and neat.

Fair enough! Well, I can't tell you which is better (I've got an 87 with the original rollbar and no backseat!) Hopefully someone else will be along soon that can give you more information on the frameless and how they are!
