Steering Stabilizer question,,

tried to put a new one on my 94 YJ this weekend,, can not get the bold out of the sway bar?? is it threaded in there?? or should it just come out?? i'm afraid to beat on it,, don't want to bend the sway bar,, and can get enough power to losen it?!?

It's a tapered fit, & it's usually damned tight.

I used a pitman arm puller or a pickle fork to break mine loose. After tension is applied, you may have to tap around the tierod hole to get it to come loose.

If you don't have those tools, you can rent them from Advance Auto. They usually return all the $$$ you put down to borrow them.

Be sure to loosen the nut, but only until it's flush with the end of the threads. Don't take it all the way off, until the tapered fit joint comes loose.
