Stock rear Seat? Fold and Tumble?

I apologize for the complete newb question here but does a stock YJ seat fold and tumble?

I have a lead on a seat and would like to make sure it is fully functional before I buy since he is asking $100 for it. (50 for the seat and 50 for the bracket and buckles)

I want a rear seat but i also still want to have the space in the back so fold and tumble is key. Cant recall if stock seats did that or not...

Many other little goodies!
Swap to a 4BT diesel in the future? Most likely.

Yes the rear seat folds and tumbles in all YJ's if its a stock seat. If it has head rests then it isn't stock, and it will only fold, not tumble. But I found out with mine, that if you have a center console, a stock rear seat doesn't tumble either. At least mine doesn't. It hits the center console.

I appreciate the responses all, One of the reasons I want an original seat is to keep everything original on my Jeeps interior. The seat will be installed for the drive home and to make sure its functional instead of broken. Then it is going straight to my upholstery guy to be reskinned to match my front seats in marine vinyl.

it was $200 per seat for the materials, labor, and new bolt kit and refurbishment for the front seats. The rear I am estimating $350. I splurged on the interior but i love how it looks now!

Thanks for the info. I need a motorcycle seat re upholstered and the guy told me $300. I laughed in his face and walked out. Good to have a reference.

Your Jeep is pretty sweet by the way.

Thanks!! Marine vinyl is a breeze to clean up after a muddy ride by the way. a bit of water and light scrubbing and everything seems to lift off it. The key is to keep it conditioned properly.

WOW I would have laughed and walked away too... the guy who did my seats has won awards for his upholstery work and even has a supercharged camaro show car that has the same colors as my jeep. Maybe that influenced him a bit on the price... who knows
Also, thank you!!
