If you have fuel then you need to check for spark. If you know you have spark, pull a plug and make sure it has fuel in the cylinder.

Don't assume you're getting gas based solely on smell alone. An empty gas can smells of gas but it doesn't mean there's any there. Turn the key, check to see if you hear the fuel pump prime. (I'm assuming it's fuel injected and not carbed????) Push the schrader valve in and see if it squirts out, trickles out, doesnt come out at all, etc. If you have a paper clip or piece of wire you can jump the fuel pump relay and see if you can get it to come on. Sometimes just tapping on the tank will jolt it back to life too. Check for spark at the coil wire going into the cap. Check for it coming out. That takes care of fuel and spark, the only thing left is air. Just for the hell of it check and make sure you dont have a ton of sand in your airbox. Youre missing one of the big three, just gotta figure out what one it is. Can of brake clean or starting fluid can help narrow down the issue to if you have some handy. If you spray some and it starts up, runs like poo and then quits, its fairly safe to assume youre not gettign fuel from the tank. If it does nothing its fairly safe to assume youre not gettign spark. Let us know the status and good luck.
