The Jeep, why you bought it?

The title says it.

I bought mine originally to get me further down the skinny brush choked trails to do my favorite summer past time. That is fishing little brush and rock choked streams for wild char aka Brook Trout.

It was convenient, worth way more than my Subaru, and my buddy wanted to trade. Love the thing so far. Can't beat the smiles.

Always wanted one. There is something about riding in a jeep that takes away all the worries its just so peaceful and calming. Plus my wife and I love to go camping, fishing, and hiking so it doubles as a very capable vehicle to get us wherever we are trying to go.

Then there is the look of envy from everyone else on the road when you are running topleaa/doorless on a beautiful day.

Bought the 912 th Fj cruiser ever produced in 06, built it into my dream machine. Wheeled the thing till last summer, then totaled it in quicksand. Sank it to the dash vents. The soupy hole was salt/sand mess which pretty much fried everything. It was built for water crossings, snorkled, the whole 9 yards. And it did keep running but every crevice was packed with salty silt. Made the 2 hr drive home, but it was shot, so my insurance totalled it.
Decided I was an idiot for building a 40k rig, and brought a spotless low mileage 4.0 91 yj for $4500. (Whole jeep cost less than my 6in lift on the Fj ! ). Yj has a 4" lift 33s and the plan is to build it into a streetable trail rig.

My dad had an '80 CJ-5 he bought brand new and when we found a good deal on a '94 YJ, we jumped on it. It was a rust bucket but we used it to learn and its won a few trophies for the frame off resto and the trail riding has been amazing. I had no idea how much fun they are before we actually got it on the road😊

I always wanted one, and the opportunity came up in December and I traded in my 2011 Mustang GT.

I love it.

I always wanted a convertible but also wanted something I could take out into the sticks camping/fishing. They scream freedom, which I'm a fan of.

One day out of the blue the wife said she wanted a jeep, so of course I went out and bought one before she could take it back.

I needed a hobby and have wanted a jeep for a while, so i bought a non running 94 4.0 from the original owner. She's all original, not molested in any way, and is virtually rust free. Can't wait for warm weather

I needed to buy my first car on my own, and wanted a jeep ever since I saw Jurasic Park as a kid (~4yo) and now I'm 16, and driving my dream vehicle. I also love the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, backpacking, and I have a feeling my baby is going to be seeing TONS of NM off road!

My reasons are much the same as many here. Getting back into those areas I've always wanted to get to (the trout, the trout!) plus I can get my wife to go with me (can bring enough creature comforts to make her happy).

My wife wanted a old school jeep. She doesn't like the looks of the newer ones.
