This sucks. Can you help?

A divorce and business failure results in my having to part with my beloved YJ. A Vineyard Jeep, the 88 came with no rot to speak of (garaged), 73k on an engine that runs great, and factory everything (all in great shape). I of course lifted it 3" with 33" rubber. I then secured matching full doors (great shape, same color), canvas doors, fiberglass top (clean) and aftermarket console between seats. Red, the thing is awesome. Clean, classic. My question is: I have no idea what to ask for this great Jeep. Any advice/offers?
Thanks a lot. Brian

Depends a lot on location, in my area you could pull around $9k if you waited fort he right buyer and it's as clean as you say.

None of us can tell you what someone else will pay for it. List it for what you WANT for it, and then start dropping it monthly until you would rather have the Jeep than what the next drop would be.

30 year old "non-muscle" rolling steel isn't going for a premium right now. Your best bet at getting more than $5k for it would be to knock the height down to stock and try to find some original wheels for it. You might luck into a collector looking for a clean factory-looking example.

Sell it to your mom or dad for $1000.00 and then once the divorce and broken business is resolved, buy it back, If you get $1K for a 28 year old vehicle it's unlikely the other partys lawyer would say you sold it cheap just to hide assets.

Ask your lawyer.

If you really need the money you will get from a public sale, check out the local ads (Craigslist or newspapers) for what other Wranglers are going for and compare them to yours. Make a few phone calls and ask the seller about the Jeep being sold. Document
what each seller says.
Is there a local Pennysaver magazine? Look for one at your 7-11 or newsstand.

Good Luck, L.M.
