Have a 95 jeep wrangler 2.5 SE. It has a 2" body lift. I am looking to put a better tire range on my jeep but I'm unsure of where to go. I don't want anything spectacular or outrageous. I am most interested in trail riding, not big on bogging or climbing. I just want to know what size would be best. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Everybody has different ideas about such things but if it were my Jeep I wouldn't go above a 31 inch tall tire. Two reasons, first you only have 2' of lift, and second you only have the 2.5 engine. Too tall of a tire (without regearing) and the 2.5 seems to lose a lot of power. My brother's 2.5 felt completly different with 33 inch tires. He is going to replace them with smaller tires.
I agree with the others don't go over 31 without regearing. I just got 31s slow as a dog on interstate and I have the 4.0 5spd with upgraded intake and other little tweaks . Also I have no lift and rub quite a bit. O and for width I got 245 which I believe is 9.5inches wide and I just barely rub at full turn
So over all I'd go with 245/75/15? Stock rims? Check out kenda klever mr29 they are awesome
