To swap or NOT to swap

Ok, and lets just be honest, I CAN'T BELIEVE how this has taken off....3 short months ago I bought my stock 95 5 spd 4.0 YJ to run gravel roads in the mountains....life was good.

3 months later....4 inch lift, 33s, winch and moderate off road rock crawling...this was not the plan,,,,oh but now it is. In my new found love for this driving, the 5spd has been somewhat of an issue. Not impossible by any means, just an Auto seems to be much easier to navigate.

this being said, Transmission is going to need to be rebuilt. Might as well do the whole thing while its out and clutch as well........OR......install an Automatic....

So pros/cons? is this a crazy idea? I like my YJ. Thought of going Auto and TJ but I LIKE MY YJ. I like something different in a lineup full of round headlights.

I'm a big fan of autos. Both my YJs have 'em.

Cons - not as much fun, seat of the pants experience.

Pros - easier to control. Less to concentrate on. No need for a third foot on slow grades.

Plus I can enjoy a beverage more conveniently.

Five gears to three, plus 33" tires. You may need to regear. Try this link so you understand what your issues may or may not be.
