Transfer Case Questions

On the new YJ I ran the transfer case thru all the positions and it seemed to work perfectly. But, the "4WD" light on the dash now stays on all the time. Changing out the fluid is on my to-do list. I assume there is a switch there somewhere, but don't see it in the wiring diagrams. Is it Vacuum? Is it as simple as unscrewing and changing the switch while I have the oil out?

the switch is on the front axle disconnect on the passengers side of the axle

And yes the front axle disconnect that operates the switch is vacuum operated. It could be that your vacuum lines are not allowing the front axle disconnect to actually disconnect resulting in the light remaining on.

My bet is the vacuum switch on the t case.... quickly and firmly shift 2hi 4hi about a dozen times to see if it frees up

It's an 89. I've found the switch on the firewall and traced out the vacuum lines. I'll give the suggesting of shifting 2 HI o 4 HI multiple times a try. Maybe just tap on all the different components with a screwdriver handle? I'm planning to change the oil in the T Case this weekend, so I'll try to trouble shoot it before that.
