Transformers:)

I was thinking about how our Jeep’s change as we upgrade them & change items.
So that got me to thinking, how has your Jeep changed since you first bought it to it’s current state? (Before & after pics).
So here’s mine the day I bought it & how it currently sits (still looking for a metal cloak dealer in ks for my curved tube fenders. And still playing with paint- trying to give it the brushed stainless appearance.)

I didn't take any pics when I first bought my heap. Just pics during the build.
Pic #1 is where I had to cut away a bit of the front body mount cover to accommodate the winch plate.
Pics # 2&3 is prepping for paint and to check for rust (found none).
Pic #4 is the finished heap in 2014 and pic #5 is this spring.

Good Luck, L.M.

Hey @brymac66 is that a CJ color? Don't think I've seen it on a YJ before? I like it.
@steves92 I can't look at your pics it comes up invalid format for me?
@Luckymac I REALLY like the orange color, it just fits that jeep so well. I'm surprised it wasn't a color option. But I guess all the high impact colors stopped in the 70's...

Zombiepopper, were I a smartass, I'd say two things:
All I can tell is that your grass grew, but no other changes. Or;
Are you a redneck, mowed your lawn and found that other Jeep under there?

Long story....
I was camping outside of Mesa AZ in 2011 and I saw an older restored Chevrolet pickup painted pearl white and pearl orange. It looked like a creamsickle (that's a good thing).
When I got my F-150 it was all white and looked like a work truck. I picked a Ford color that had the closest orange to what I remembered. 1980 Ford (5T) Bright Carmel.
When I was picking a color to paint my Jeep, Mrs. Lucky said "Why not the same color as on the truck. I like that color".
Well, "If momma ain't happy".....you know the rest. Jeep is now (5T).

Good Luck, L.M.

Lol I HOPE you can see the differences (or i question my upgrade choices ha)
But it's in 2 different places: the lot when I dragged it home & the 2nd is in a pasture after wheeling. But don't remind me- it's mowing season & my allergies are already acting up!!!

@brymac66 it must be a rare color?

Same color as LMs rig (Garnet metallic) was originally.
Garnet Metallic paint code was listed as 3C and 3P. They're actually slightly different colors with different paint mixing formulas.
Mine was 3P.

Pic is the best that I have handy.

Good Luck, L.M.

EDIT, My build date is 04-86....Talk about an early YJ.

From Wikipedia….

The Jeep Wrangler YJ is a model of Jeep offroad vehicle that was in production between 1987 and 1995. Development of a potential CJ-7 replacement was green-lighted in 1982, with engineering and design work (under Chuck Mashigan) commencing. After approval earlier in 1983, a final design freeze occurred by the fall of 1983, with CJ-7 based mules being built in late 1983 and the first production body test prototypes in the spring of 1984. By late 1985, development concluded, as the transition from pilot to series production began. In February 1986, the 1987 Jeep Wrangler was unveiled, entering production that March, and going on sale on May 13, 1986.

Good Luck, L.M.

Nice .
From a stocker to a capable trail rig.
@brymac66 if you email [email protected] & give them your vin, they'll give you the complete break-down of all the info on your jeep & all options.

Mine was barely readable. I took pics prior to having the tub & doors media blasted.

If you email the folks at [email protected] with your VIN, I hear that they'll send you a build sheet. I would expect that the build sheet would have the D.O.M.

Good Luck, L.M.
