Transmission Skid Plate

I swapped out my Turbo350 for my NV4500 and Atlas. The modifications to the old transmission skid plate render it unusable.

Anyone know a good junk yard to get a replacement skid plate near Central MD DC area?

no, but i modified my skid to run a NV4500. I notched the center brace out and welded in a piece of 3/16 plate to beef it back up and get the tranny mount to sit lower. Then i notched the front of the skid to clear the tranny and then welded a metal bar in to beef it back up. Seems just as strong if not stronger than it was from the factory i have never damaged it.

check out the skids from barnes off road:Jeep YJ 2" Drop Skid Plate

they are reasonably priced for an aftermarket part, they're absolutely bomb proof, and they don't come set up for any particular drivetrain so you can drill your own holes for whatever you're running.

Check these guys out ( they are down near DC I believe. ) ......

I would say they are close to Waldorf but not down that far.

My insurance company uses them when new OEM parts are not available.

They have several locations and even a U-Pull it yard.

Thanks for all the feedback, I ended up just modding the old skid within acceptable limits (I Hope!)
