I've read that a lot of people are looking for designs people have for home made flat fenders. Well I'm a mechanical engineering student and for my metal fab class were designing and constructing whatever we want. Sometime in the next few weeks I'll have designs up for mine. These pics are just some sketches I put together in like 10 minutes to get the general idea of what I want. Obviously they won't look quite so square but I just wanted to throw a rough idea down. I'll keep you all posted on my designs and construction of them

Those prototypes that you have look almost like mine. Keep up the good designs.

The doors are my own design as well. I patterned them from a set that I saw in quadrajunk and built my own jig to weld them up. Everything that is on that old YJ is custom designed by me.

The tubes for the doors are 1 1/4" DOM with a sidewall of 1/4". A little bit overkill, but it will take a pounding, as well as they are heavy enough that they don't rattle like cheaper versions do.

I still have the rear tube fenders to do yet, and re-design the rock sliders, As well as adding to the roll cage this year.

Never done, never done...lol
