upgrade lift or buy used?

I'm looking into lifting my wrangler. its 1994 with 80k miles on it. currently its bone stock. would it be cheaper to purchase a predone jeep off of ebay or lift it myself?

EDIT: I'm looking towards a 4inch lift with full tires 35" (i believe thats wht I read would fit.)

lift it yourself, unless its in bad shape and your in need of a new one..
that way your not inheriting someone elses problems. if you rig is sound and no real problems you spend less money on a decent lift that on a new jeep with possible unforseen issues that wont show up right away.. but its your money and your decision..

lift it yourself man, and with 35s you will need more then just a 4in lift. You will also need a 1in bl and maybe a shackle lift like 5/8s lift. And you may need to trim the flares. Or get a 6in lift n you can clear 35s no problem.

if you got 5 k to spend on it, go spring over and do a nice job, and you still won't spend that much.

sounds good. I'm also looking at purchasing another jeep for the wife, shes not into offroading but prefers the look of small lifted jeeps. Is any type better for a small lift 2.5" max?
