Vinyl dye

I am fixin to put on some new pocket flares, but my jeep has the factory side steps. I would just remove them, however my wife is like 5'6" and has a hard enough time getting into my jeep. I was wondering if anyone has tried to use vinyl dye to make there old steps/flares look nice and black again. If so, is there any chance of a pic or two?

I spray painted mine using a krylon for plastic satin black paint. Comes out with just a little shine. enough to make them look nice and new but not too much to look painted.

I wet sanded with fine grit and than wiped it down with acetone. The paint sticks real nicely and is very easy to spray with no drips. I did this on another car almost 3 years ago and it still looks great.

Duplicolor dyes work well, however I'm not sure how it'd stand up to constant sun. I'd use krylon fusion in your situation
