I have a rebuilt 87 that was t boned and totaled 100 milles into its new incarnation the driver's side and windshield frame is totaled but the frame is straight. it was hit high with an suv. I bought it back from the insurance co.

the 90 I just picked up has 156,000 on the motor and a shot out drive line.

the body has hard doors and a hard top. it's in real good shape and the computer was better in the 90 than the 87. Instead of changing engine, trans, and axles would it be easier to just put the 90 body on the 87 frame?

i would appreciate any feedback, Joel

That is what I would do. I would hate to have to switch out an engine, it seems really complicated and confusing.

I would keep is simple. I agree with red and weasel. Lifting a tub would be easier than pulling the engine and swapping the rest of the drivetrain. If you use the 90 you wouldn't have a salvaged title either.
