Want to freshen up stock suspension with new leaf springs, etc

My '95 YJ is almost ready to put back on the road and I'm thinking of replacing all 4 leaf springs, shocks, etc. it's looks pretty old under there. I want to stay pretty much close to stock but improve the ride a bit. Should I go with a 1.5 lift kit with shocks? Rubber or poly bushings? Do I need new shackles too? The tires I'm running are not stock size, I think they are 30-31" on there currently and I'm fine with that. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Just get a 2.5 inch lift. It will look just like stock with the 30 inch tires.

Shouldnt need shackles unless yours are damaged.

New frame side bushings may be required if yours are showing signs of deterioration. The lift kit should come with new spring side bushings, but they are always poly bushings. Rubber will ride better, though. The rubber bushings need to be pressed/ hammered in while the poly are two piece.

Will the 2.5" lift install without changes to the other suspension components? My shackles are the original and rusty. Need to replace them with something fresh and serviceable

I recently installed Zone Offroad 2" Suspension System, p/n J27 on my ’89 --
Zone Offroad 2" Suspension System J27
I am very pleased with the setup. It includes the angle shims for the rears. I also used Zone Offroad p/n J5109 stock-height shackles. Add frame bushings and new hardware and you’re set.

ARB Old Man Emu (OME) is supposed to be nice. I prefer custom made springs.
