We Only Work on Classic Cars....huh? YJ is not Classis Sir....

So I need to have my YJ repainted and very minor body work done. The title of this post says it all, and this is what I have been hearing when I have been calling around my hometown paint and body shops.

Will the YJ ever be considered classic? Their attempt at shaming me did not work.

Anyone know a good body shop in Virginia?

Addison

Find a jeep only shop...that's what I did. Those places don't know anything about a jeep and you wouldn't be happy with the results.

Ask them what years qualify as classic, then, if your YJ is older then the cut off, say you need work done on an (insert year here) Jeep. Do this before saying its a YJ. Or if they say they won't do it tell them they just lost a customer with a VERY classic wrangler- the most classic wrangler perhaps.

What part of Virginia? Virginia Beach and Norfolk have plenty of great paint and body shops.

Why are you trying to get it painted at a classic car shop? Sounds way more expensive to me. I don't live in Virginia but here in Michigan I can think of probably 20 places off the top of my head that would love to paint a wrangler just for how simplistic they are. Especially if you did most or all the prep yourself.
