Weather stripping?

6 days ago I finally bought my first Jeep. It's a 91, 6cyl 5sp hardtop. I love it, but the weather stripping is in bad shape. I mean deplorable. Figure it might be best to do everything in one shot? Or is it ridiculously time consuming? Oh there's some rust around the windshield (inside) better to replace frame while I'm at it? Any suggestions on where to buy the stuff I need? 4wheelparts? Rockauto? Thanks in advance!

Morris 4x4 I would think will be your best bet as they are Florida as well, they offer a forum discount as well you can get by PMing the vendor here or mentioning it via the phone.

If Morris doesn't have a piece you need jeepglass.com will surely have it.

Be aware that there have been some issues with some of the aftermarket seals.

Airslot makes a good point, get Mopar when available... there are some still hanging around.

Thanks everyone! I'd rather go with Mopar, just didn't think that my wallet would like the prices. Jeep glass & Morris both have as good pricing for what I can't get from Mopar.
Looked at Omix-Ada kits, but I see a lot of negative feedback on their cowl seals etc. Better to be safe & go the OEM route.

If your Jeep is typical, the rust you see on the windshield frame is nothing compared to the rust you can't see.
I bought an aftermarket windshield frame from Quadratec to replace the only rusted part on my Jeep. What happens is when replacing a cracked or broken windshield, the technician cuts the old glass out with a special knife. Often times the tech will damage the paint on the inside lip where the glass sits with the tip of the knife. If he doesn't properly seal up the cut, the windshield surround gasket holds water on the bare metal and in a couple years you have rust holes.

Look around for a used windshield frame. If it has any rust, pass on it.

If you are looking for door weatherstrips, Qtec and Morris are good places to look.

Good Luck, L.M.
