what i did to my jeep today!

Pulled the 4.2 for a total overhaul. Thanks for the Napa guys here in Winchester VA they have a great machine shop and getting a full rebuild kit and a full engine block and camshaft crankshaft checked and bored over! If i don't need a new crank or camshaft i can get all this don't for less than $1000. I think its a good price! anyone else think so? i was quoted $400-600 in parts and about $300 on the machining. They said they would charge no more then $1000 but will try to keep it less than that. Its more just on the labor cost and depends on what parts i need to buy.

i wish i could afford something like that. a)im sure my motor could use it and b)it would allow me to finish painting the engine compartment

I think that's a great deal, I"ve been getting parts together as I can afford, and going to use a 4.0 block and build a 4.6 / 4bbl out of mine but it'll cost 2X your, and may not do any better. Maybe I can Drag Race Z71s or something 275 hp @4,200 and over 300 ft. lbs 2,000 just sounds like something I want. GOOD DEAL MAN!

yeah i thought it was. i can't wait to get it done. for myself im just looking to get enough power to do some minor mudding and trail riding. i did before it blew up a MC2100 carb and it ran so much better with just that and that nutter bypass deal. i love these basic jeeps and im going to keep it that way. and i will do a ignition upgrade aswell when i get it back together. the only thing i want done is suspension but about 3inch or so. not sure and bigger tires and wheels but about only 32's but any suggestions would be great! like what do you guys reconmend in bigger tires but not so big that it requires alot of changes and comfort in driving?
