Had the slave (internal) replaced again. This time it was under warranty. Going to start collecting parts to do external conversion.

Took it out with a few buddys, I got hung up on a boulder tried to bump over it . That failed to work , backed up tried to pivot and grab traction and claw my way over it. Wound up putting a small dent on the passenger side rocker , crushing the belly pan and got some gnarly rock rash on my rear driveshaft.
Later on the trail I took a hard line up the trail. Kissed the driverside rocker into a boulder and smacked the crusher corner on the boulder too.

Found a set of seats for Frankin Jeep. 2001 chev. cav. great cond $65. Hardest part was removing seat frames from tub & D*m torex bolts from old seats. On plus side direct fit using new seat bolts & jeep frames. Raised back of seat frames with washers all is well.
Pictures to follow.
Installed sound bar (found on craigslist) Now have LED Dome lights (swapped out bulbs with led)
Did rattle can paint job on body & hard (gloss black ) looks good from 10ft away

Painted the hood and the cowl. Clear coat had started peeling and I rustoleum-ed it for a few months until I had time to do it right.

that hood turned out SWEET! Wish I had the tools, space, know how, inclination, et cetera to be able to paint mine with something other than rattle can. Thinking pretty hard about Durabak or Monstaliner on the body in the near future.

Over the past week or so? Installed the new wheel bearings and seals in the 8.8, installed axles and cross-pin lock bolt.

Just a few more small items and good weather, and it can go in.

Coordinated on the purchase of an XJ front axle to swap in. It will entail a bit of work cutting of the XJ's coil spring suspension garbage and fitting it with shock mounts and spring perches to accommodate a proper suspension, but in the long run I think it will be worth it.

Will crank but not start!!! Help!

OK... I've done it all except swap out ECM/ECU... I have a brand new Power Torque 4.0L in-line 6cyl engine (500 miles). New transmission
AX-15 (500 miles). I also have recently replaced the following with brand new parts: plugs, wires, distributor, distributor cap, rotor bug, battery (red top), alternator, starter, fuel pump, fuel filter, and crank sensor. I have checked all fuses and relays and are all good.

I have been told the following could be wrong with it: ignition switch module, ecm/ecu, grounds, auto shutoff relay.

My 95' Wrangler YJ has had zero issues for the last 500 miles (since engine and trans swap). All of the sudden I pull in garage, and go to start next day and it would only crank and crank... uggghhhh. Popped hood, and saw that the positive winch wire was not connected to the battery. I hooked it up and BOOOOM, were off. She started right up.... Until the next day, I went to start again and crank and crank and crank... WTF!! Pop the hood, and look around again and found that the crank shaft sensor was loose. So I replaced it and tightened it up. All good right? NOPE! Just crank and crank and crank... I rerouted and examined all wires and grounds... All good...

I have fire, have fuel to the fuel rail, hear fuel pump kick on each time. the one issue I hear/see is each time I turn ignition on (just before I crank it), I hear/feel the auto shutoff relay activate. Why would auto shutoff relay keep tripping?

SKI, start a thread on this in the tech section. That way everyone will see it and you'll have a far better chance of getting responses to it.

Got my accessoy fus box/tool box installed. Just need my double sided, sticky velcro to come in so I can attached the parts to the toolbox.

Also, redid my Battery cables.

Works great and lots of expansion room.

This week I checked fluids, rerouted my stereo wires that were running behind the climate controls, annnnnnnd that's about it. She really didn't need any work this week aside from one door strap.

Finished the hardtop install on 'Spots, the Wonder Jeep'!

-

Then we realized it was lonely, so we got it some company. A '93 YJ.

Completely rust free, always garaged CA vehicle. Brand new Best Top, hardware and uppers, brakes and starter.

Almost bone stock. PO added 31s, cruise control, Tuffy console and a sound bar, all professionally installed.

4.0 with automatic, for these tired old legs!

Spent my jeep allowance for the month on a frivolous item.
I don't run a soft top and just use a Bestop Bikini top and half doors all year. So had a window tint outfit do a Ceramic BlackMax 80% film for the windshield, supposedly to reduce the heat from old Sol. Might work better for a jeep with full top and doors. The ceramic film doesn't not have a tint or very little if any and not reflective from visual point of view. So Im thinking this is just a placebo affect. Legal in Texas.

Ceramic film on the right and bottom.

Steer box seals leaked

Went to get some lunch and saw a large spot of oil.The power steering pump was dry. I had to get 3 quarts and every time I stopped, it all leaked out.
I got a seal kit from Quadratec and a 18mm line wrench and replaced the seals after removing the steering box.
I also replaced the steering shaft and lower bearing on the bottom of the steering column while I had the box out.
Steering is nice and tight now.
