What is this?

I was looking at my buddy's jeep today and saw a bracket on the back below the passenger side rear light, and it seemed to serve no purpose. I got home and saw that I four holes where this same bracket must have been. I'm assuming this came stock on YJ's? What is this for?

Thats what stops the stock spare tire from whacking the body, when you open the tailgate the tire will hit that and stop it

Once you upgrade tires it really becomes useless, but I've seen people use it as a CB radio antenna mount

Yea CB mount doesn't seem like a bad use for it. Thanks for the insight.

You have an arrow pointed right where I currently have a CB antennae mounted.
Hope that's some help.

Looks like you've got a flip-down tailgate mod so there really is no need for that tire stopper now for sure.

I dunno, but the question I would be asking is "why is a big lifted Jeep with boggers parked in that handicap spot?"

I just think it's odd that his d-ring is mounted sideways
